Shoestring Acres offers seed harvested from production plots (G1: first generation from wild harvested seed) and wild harvested seed from area prairies. We only harvest where we have permission from the landowner or public right of ways that adjoin remnant prairie and exhibit the diversity of remnant prairies including species not usually found in the commercial market. From remnant prairies we harvest no more than 50% of the available seed to lessen our impact on local biodiversity.
